State Prosecutor Ghassan Oueidat Sunday banned exchange dealers and businessmen from taking large amounts of dollar notes outside Lebanon until a new mechanism for the operation has been implemented by the Central Bank.
Banks have been closed since Oct. 18 . And they will remain closed Monday, the Association of Banks in Lebanon said, "during these ongoing popular demonstrations".
