Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri is set to meet with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri Tuesday as part of renewed consultations to form a new government, stalled for a week by the leaders' absence on vacation abroad, political sources said Monday.Further complicating Hariri's mission are the escalating tensions between the Free Patriotic Movement and the LF, which are locked in a bitter struggle over Christian representation in the government.Berri and Hariri returned to Beirut Sunday from vacations with their families abroad.Berri said if no progress was made in the Cabinet formation in the next 48 hours, he would call for a general Parliament session to elect heads and members of parliamentary committees.Caretaker Industry Minister Hussein Hajj Hasan, a member of Hezbollah's parliamentary bloc, said Berri expressed his concern over the delay in the government formation.LF lawmakers have accused Bassil of obstructing the government's formation by seeking to prevent the LF from obtaining a Cabinet share commensurate with its parliamentary size.
