The international community is apparently growing concerned about the delay in the formation of a new government, with the European Union Thursday calling for the swift creation of a national unity Cabinet as an essential move to ensure the functioning of state institutions.Riachi, one of three LF ministers in Hariri's caretaker Cabinet, said Aoun told him that the issue of granting a sovereign ministry to the LF was being discussed with the prime minister-designate.LF ministers and lawmakers have blamed Bassil for the delay in the government formation, accusing him of seeking to prevent the LF from obtaining a significant Cabinet share based on the results of the elections, when the party boosted its representation from eight to 15 MPs.The EU's call for the quick formation of a national unity government was made by the EU Ambassador to Lebanon Christina Lassen during her meeting with Hariri at the prime minister-designate's Downtown Beirut residence.
