Beirut's Military Court Monday found four of five You Stink protesters not guilty of assaulting security forces during trash crisis demonstrations in 2015, while one was convicted for throwing stones at officers. The court delivered its verdict late Monday and released the four suspects found not guilty – including one who is serving in the Army – while the fifth, who is a minor, was found guilty.Reacting to the verdict Monday, Bassam Khawaja, a researcher for Human Rights Watch, said, "The protesters should never have been tried in military court in the first place.The defense also displayed photographic evidence depicting the defendants during the protests.
