The Tourism Ministry has announced a third season of the Lebanese Water Festival, an eight-week series of activities and seaside shows highlighting the country's wealth of water sports, starting Thursday.Lebanon Water Festival offers a unified platform for promoting the county's various recreational water activities by offering discounted group classes for sports like surfing and kite boarding throughout August and September.Annette Khoury, co-creator of the festival, has sought to include more cities along Lebanon's coastline each year. The Khourys saw water sports as an underdeveloped area of the country's tourism and sport sectors. They created the festival three years ago as a way to draw attention to the variety of ongoing seaside activities and the potential for more. Over the past two years, the Lebanon Water Festival has gathered nearly 20,000 spectators across events.
