The industry's most ostentatious and expensive womenswear hits Paris runways this week, when major fashion houses unveil their fall-winter couture collections.Hobeika has built his fashion house on whimsically themed dresses in ethereal fabrics and pastels. On the brand's Facebook page, Hobeika's team called the secondary collection of little dresses "kid couture". Hobeika is the first among Lebanon's elite designers to show children's clothing on the runway; he's likely the first designer ever to present kids' clothes at a couture show. Hobeika's move does, however, follow many high-end designers like Stella McCartney and Jean-Paul Gautier, whose successful kids' collections have revealed a market for small but very expensive clothing.Dior, which also showed its winter 2015 couture collection Monday, has been producing luxury children's clothing since 1967 . Skirts were at knee-length or lower, and silk bow-tied collars, sleeves and capes were major features in the winter couture.
