Ten of the city's yoga studios will join forces Sept. 20 for the first ever Beirut Yoga Festival. Organizers will host the one-day event at Pleine Nature, an open-air venue in Mansourieh, where Beirut's yoga instructors will lead 50-minute classes all day, starting at 7 a.m. Other sections at the festival will include daylong meditation classes, an open market of health-focused groups and businesses, and a gathering area where instructors and students can mingle and learn. Harb took five minutes to speak with The Daily Star about yoga, the festival and Lebanon's very particular need for stress relief.It's not only for yogis or yoga students. This is more for the people who are curious about yoga but they have never had the chance to get in contact with an experienced teacher. A: Frankly, yoga has existed in Lebanon for a long time.The past five or seven years, yoga just exploded because many Lebanese, they went out and did yoga abroad and they got the teaching certificate. They decided to come back to Lebanon and to teach yoga, and this was my case.
